Prayer room offers chance to ‘be a light to the world’
A 24-hour global community prayer room is now open.
An annual event by Restoration House Ministries International Bermuda, people can either attend in person at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, or online.
The idea is to help anyone who is in need of faith or fellowship.
Crystal Holdipp, a spokesperson for RHM International Bermuda, said that the event is now in its seventh year and carries the theme, “You are a Light to the World”.
“There are so many things happening in Bermuda and all around the world where there is darkness, so we are calling forth believers in the body of Christ to be a light to the world,” she said.
“In a time where people may be down and out, sad, and discouraged, we are coming forth to encourage people through prayer and other formats.”
The prayer room gives an opportunity for people here and abroad to be encouraged through prayer, devotional thoughts, preaching moments and creative expressions of faith.
“This year we are encouraging people to use their creative gifts,” Ms Holdipp said. “We are encouraging people to tap into their gifts and talents. It’s not always easy when a person is starting in any type of ministry – whether it is intercession, preaching, or teaching. We want to give people a chance to get started with us to use their talents and gifts for God’s glory.”
The organisation has also made an effort this year to get couples and families to attend together, rather than as individuals.
“Families and couples are going through different things and facing different situations, so we want to also focus on families and couples to let them know that they are not alone. There are other families out there standing with you who can relate to your struggles,” Ms Holdipp said.
“The hope is that people get refreshed, replenished, encouraged and they get strengthened.”
• Join Restoration House Ministries International Bermuda’s community prayer room until 11.59pm on YouTube or Facebook or participate in person at 29 Church Street, Hamilton
