Rugby U19s beaten by Cayman
Cayman 11 Bermuda 10Some wayward kicking by full back Tristan Kermode cost Bermuda Under-19s their Caribbean Rugby Championship title as they lost to Cayman Islands by a single point.Kermode failed to convert either of Nick Chilvers’ tries, and also missed a second half penalty as Morgan Heywood’s effort ultimately proved to be the difference between the two sides.For Cayman, it was some measure of revenge for their final defeat to Bermuda last year, and set them up for a final clash against Trinidad and Tobago. Bermuda, meanwhile, will battle it out with Mexico for third place.Chilvers intially gave Bermuda the lead, only for Cayman wing Tony Mann to level the scores soon after. With both kickers struggling with their accuracy, moreso Heywood who missed several kickable penalties. The teams were tied at 5-5 at half- time.The Cayman fly-half eventually landed one to put his side 8-5 up and with Alex Harvey adding another, Cayman pulled out to an 11-5 lead.With time running out, Chilvers scored his second of the night to put Bermuda within a point.
