Turks appreciate size of their task
Turks and Caicos Islands are ready and raring to go before their North American and Caribbean Rugby Association Championship match with Bermuda today.
Turks and Caicos arrived in Bermuda on Thursday night and are staying at Warwick Camp for the duration of their visit.
The squad is a mixture of youth and experience and Keith Burant, the president of the Turks and Caicos RFU, believes his team match up well with Bermuda at North Field, National Sports Centre, at 4pm — even if they are considered underdogs.
“Beating Bermuda will be a tough ask, but we’re here to compete,” he said. “I think they [Bermuda] will rely more on a forwards game, so we may have an advantage with our pace in the backs, but we know the odds are stacked against us.”
