Dame Flora Duffy finished in the top ten in her first effort on the T100 Triathlon Tour.
Racing on the Spanish island of Ibiza, things looked great early for Duffy as she exited the 2km swim in second position, but she appeared to suffer on her time-trial bike in the second leg over 80km, dropping nine positions and entering the transition in eleventh place, more than nine minutes behind leader Taylor Knibb.
Duffy then displayed good legs on the run, improving her position to finish ninth overall in a time of 3hr 39min 3sec, with Knibb securing victory in 3:30.02. Julie Derron, of Switzerland, finished second, with India Lee of Great Britain in third.
