Adam Prunty storms to victory in Axa XL Man On The Run 5K
More than 300 men pounded the streets around Warwick on Sunday for the Axa XL Man On The Run 5k.
Runners aged between 7 and 71 turned up on Sunday to help raise funds to support local Men’s Health Initiatives, with 100 per cent of funds supporting free men’s health education programmes and the Equal Access Funds, which provide financial subsidies for early detection services and radiation therapy treatment.
Victory in the 5K went to Adam Prunty, who had recently completed the 100km Thames Path Challenge, in a time of 16 min 19sec, which was 30 seconds faster than runner-up Chayce Smith. Jake Smith finished third in 16:51 with Jackson Langley (17:06) and Shannon Lawrence (17:20) rounding out the top five.
The 5K competitive walk was won by Mike Watson in 30:43. That was nearly four minutes faster than Paul Hayward (34:19), with Joseph Matthew (36:29) rounding out the podium.
The race for boys aged 7 to 10 took place over 2.2km, with victory going to eight-year-old Nolan Horrobin (9:48). He had just five seconds to spare over Tinho Tucker Wall (9:53), with Harlo Robinson claiming third place (10:16)
