Some famous names on the Bermuda running scene took the honours in the Northshore Medical Turkey Trot on Sunday.

With the 8km distance being one of the longest on the competitive circuit, it was no surprise that the cream rose to the top, with Sean Trott winning in 27min 33sec.

That was 52 seconds clear of runner-up Philip Woollins (28:31) with Tim Price third (29:48). Kwame Curling (29:53) and Will Green (30:25) completed the top five.

Gayle Lindsay was the first woman home, finishing seventh overall in 31:03, nearly two minutes ahead of her nearest rival, Stepanka Sprincova, who clocked 32:49. Teresa Ruiz was third in 33:37, followed by Bonnie Mills (37:32) and Christina Kim (38:00).

In the 8km competitive walk, Nancy Andrews-Sousa claimed victory in 1:01:13, finishing 32 seconds ahead of runner-up Karen Schulz-Kiske (1:01:45). Michael Cenzer placed third in 1:03:39.

Nearly 100 runners and walkers took part in the festive event with many choosing to race in fancy dress.
