Sailors finish on a positive note
Olympic hopefuls Jesse and Zander Kirkland had a slightly better day but still finished well down the field at the Rolex Miami OCR in Biscayne Bay.The Bermuda brothers finished 18 out of 29 boats in the 49er division, posting results of 10,12 and 17 on the final day of racing yesterday.Having struggled with an old boat throughout the week, the pair said before the races that they were just going to concentrate on ‘practicing specific maneuvers, the starts and anything else achievable in a 29 boat flee’.Meanwhile, fellow Bermudian Peter Bromby, and crew Lee White, ended up 10 in the Star Class after ending his week with finishes of 15, 10 and 15.In the Laser division Cameron Pimentel was 17 in the silver medal section, while Katrina Williams didn’t finish her final race and was 37 in the Laser Radial section.Alex Jones meanwhile finished bottom in the RS:X Men.
