Kirklands drop ten positions in France

Jesse and Zander Kirkland dropped ten spots to 58th after the second day of racing at the ISAF World Cup of Sailing event in Hyeres, France.The Bermuda duo finished the second day with two 24th places, a 17th and a 26th, leaving them sitting in 58th position out of 66 sailors heading into the third day, having amassed 109 points.The 26th place finish was thrown out as that represented their lowest score so far.Day one leaders, Erik Storck and Trevor Moore of the US, remain in top spot on 12 points, leading Great Britain’s Dylan Fletcher and Alain Sign, and Denmark’s Jonas Warrer and Soren Hansen, who are both two points back on 14.Scores are based upon each team’s finishing position at the end of each race.Each score is added up with ‘the winners of a race earning one point and ascending in one point increments.The Kirklands opened their World Cup of Sailing event with a 48th place in the first day of racing.The Bermuda duo finished Sunday’s opening day with a pair of 23rd placings along with a 24th to end the day with 70 points, leaving them sitting in 48th out of 66 sailors heading into yesterday’s second day.
