Evans leads way in Laser fleet
Rockal Evans traded places with Malcolm Smith at the top of the Laser fleet standings on day two of the Bermuda International Invitational Race Weekend.Evans posted a trio of bullets in his three races yesterday in the Great Sound. Smith dropped into second with two thirds and an eighth place finish and Brett Wright holding onto third with a sixth and a second. He did not finish his final race.In the IOD class, Solna, skippered by Marion Maneker, of the USA, T-boned Falcon, skippered by Mike Conlin, of the UK. It was the second year in a row that Falcon has been T-boned. The boat will be ready for action today after having a new mast fitted.Jeremy Preston, of the UK, leads the IODs, followed by American Scott Redmon and Dan Faria, of the USA, in third place.In the Etchells, local skipper Will Thompson is now in first place (1-3-1), Peter Bromby is second (2-4-3) and Jason Owen from the UK is now third with a 3-1-DNF.Tim Patton is fourth and still within reach of the leader.Local sailor Trevor Boyce leads the J24s after recording two bullets and a fourth place finish yesterday. Roger Morris, of the UK, is second (3-2-1) and Pete Ramsdale is third (6-3-3).In the J105 class, Chuck Millican remains in top spot after coming second twice as well as finishing first in his three races.James MacDonald is second after two bullets and a second place finish, and Ed Faries is close behind after coming third in his trio of races.
