Thompson keeps Bromby at bay

Will Thompson has retained his lead over Peter Bromby in the Etchells class after day four of the Bermuda International Invitational Race Weekend.Thompson is just two points ahead of Bromby after yesterday’s racing which resumed in the Great Sound, following Tuesday’s cancellation due to high winds.Tim Patton has moved up into third position, while Jason Owen of the UK is in fourth. There are three Etchells races remaining today.In the J24 fleet, Trevor Boyce is still in first place with 12 points, Roger Morris from the UK is second with 20 points and Sean McDermott is third with 23 points.Dan Faria, of the US, leads the IOD fleet, and is the winner of the ‘A’ series with 13 points, Scott Redmon, also of the US, is in second with 21 points and Jeremy Preston, from the UK, is third with 22 points. The IODs ‘B’ series has six more races today and tomorrow.The two local skippers, Patrick Cooper is eighth and Hubert Watlington is tenth.In the Laser class, Olympic hopeful Rockal Evans is still first with 11 points, Malcolm Smith is second with 16 points and Brett Wright is third with 24 points.
