Jesse and Zander Kirkland continued to hold their own at the 49er World Championships in Zadar, Croatia today.Having already qualfied for this summer's Olympic Games in the UK, the Kirklands turned their attention to qualifying for Saturday's medal races. They got the day off to a slow start after finishing 16th in the opening Gold fleet final but came roaring back with a second place finish in the second. However, the local duo lost momentum after finishing 15th in the day's final race to leave them ninth in the 25-boat Gold fleet. The eventual top ten teams after the finals are staged will advance to the medal races.Defending champions Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen of Australia lead the overall fleet in Croatia.
