Kempe slips to twelfth
Sebastian Kempe dropped four places to twelfth after nine races in the Optimist Green fleet in the Orange Bowl Youth Regatta at Coral Reef Yacht Club in Miami.
Kempe finished tenth twice, 24th twice, eighteenth, and twelfth during the weekend’s racing.
The results leave him on 107 points, while American Javier Garcon leads the 60-boat fleet on 16 points. Also competing in the Green fleet is Bermuda’s Christian Ebbin, who is 35th.
A Did Not Start, coupled with a Did Not Finish, put Ebbin on the back foot, while his finishes of 30th, 32nd, 37th, and 35th did not help his cause.
Mikey Wollmann, in the Optimist RWB fleet, continued his good form with a fifth, seventh and third place finish to move to 15th in his fleet, and 17th overall.
Sitting in 20th in the Red fleet and 27th overall is Cyrul Christian, who recorded an eighth, eighteenth, and a fourteenth finish.
Other Bermudians include Matilda Nicholls, who leaped from 68th to 47th overall, Alice Reeves (86th), Felix Cutler (90th), Camille Chin-Gurrett (109th), Joe Arrowsmith (110th). Charis Todd (124th), Grace Reeves (134th), Flo Nicholls (174th), and Brandon Adams (184th) all in the Optimist class.
Chase Cooper sits 16th overall in the 29-boat Laser 4.7 class, while Ceci Wollmann is 76th overall, and 16th in the female standings in the Laser Radial fleet.
James Amaral is 123rd in the 128-boat Radial class.
