Rubis named official partner of SailGP Inspire programme in Bermuda
Rubis Energy Bermuda is now the official partner of SailGP’s Inspire Programme on island.
The partnership between Rubis and SailGP Inspire will help to educate Bermuda’s youth and provide a pathway towards a long-term legacy with the combination of the Inspire programme, intern support and integration with the America’s Cup’s legacy Endeavour programme.
“We are delighted that Rubis has agreed to be our official partner of the SailGP Inspire programme,” said Tom Herbert-Evans, the youth programme manager of SailGP Inspire.
“Our goal is to leave a positive legacy and build a sustainable future by providing equal, life changing education opportunities and new career pathways for all, regardless of race or socio-economic background.
“We appreciate that Rubis shares in our vision that sailing can be a force for good and can help transform the lives of communities around the world.”
Jermaine Simons, sales manager of Rubis, highlighted what the partnership entails.
“We welcome this opportunity since it complements our current support of the Endeavour programme,” he said. “With the Endeavour programme, we provide free energy to be used by their transport vehicles when they shuttle Bermuda’s students to the respective programme activities.
“At Rubis, we believe in innovation, integrity, and equality, so our support of these initiatives which provide our youths, especially Middle School students, access to these STEM-related experiences, is a valuable investment in our local community.
“We are excited in expanding our role to help inspire and educate our next generation about how using the power of nature can improve our country’s access to renewable energy.”
The Inspire programme will focus on nine to 23-year-old participants coming from diverse backgrounds. The schools programme will use inspiring and engaging resources that bring STEM subjects and sustainability to life.
