Leverock gets call to boost Hogges attack for US trip

Maurice Lowe has boosted his attacking options by calling up Dante Leverock to Bermuda Hogges’ travel squad for their first away trip of the season.Dandy Town striker Leverock, 19, will provide cover for PHC marksman Antwan Russell who was the only recognised out-and-out striker to named in the Hogges roster at the start of the campaign.The Hogges are set for a gruelling programme of fixtures in New Jersey where they will play four matches in the space of a week.Their first game will be against Westchester Flames, at City Park –Stadium, today; two days later they play Brooklyn at the –Metropolitan Oval, –followed by Jersey –Express at the NJIT –Stadiumon –Sunday and Long –Island Rough Riders at the Cy Donnelly Stadium on Tuesday.Lowe said: “As we embark on our first road trip of the season our aim is to build on our positive performances at home with positive results on the road.”Hogges go into tonight’s game against Flames fresh from a confidence-boosting draw against Ocean City FC at the weekend.Leverock, a Bermuda Under-20 international, has been given the chance to further his football and academic education at St. Mary’s College –University in England.He will attend the London based university in August where he will fulfil his ambitions on a three-year sports coaching and science course scholarship.Former Bermuda Football Association (BFA) technical director Derek Broadley, who coached Leverock in the National Academy, recommended him to the university.The squad leaves the Island today.Bermuda Hogges squad: Tahj Bell, Mikkall Crockwell, Roger Lee, Jaylon Bather, Rakeem DeShields, Seion Darrell, Darius Cox, Reiko Trott, Marquel Waldron, Casey Castle, Lashun Dill, Shakir Smith, Chris Caisey, Korvon Tucker, Troy Tucker, Damon Ming, Keishen Bean, Antwan Russell, Dante Leverock, Domico Coddington.
