Champions Storm back to winning ways
Defending Island Soccer League champions Storm claimed their first win of the season with a 8-3 victory over Titans at the National Sports Centre yesterday.Dimitri Butterfield scored a hat-trick, while Drewonde Bascome scored twice.Kevin Lambe, Keimo Bean and Antoine Brangman all scored a goal each for Storm.Lonnie Bascome scored twice for the Titans, while Zeko White scored the other.Knights made it three wins out of three after their 8-6 over Apex last night.In a game of unbeatens, Knights got a hat-trick from Ian Coke and double strikes from Shayne Hollis and Keston Lewis.A single strike from McQuin Burch made the Knights scoring complete, while Jahron Dickinson scored a hat-trick for Apex.Andre Famous, Kaiwon Dill and Robert Wilson all scored a goal each in the loss.The Kings rebounded from their opening day loss with an 8-4 over the Royal.A hat-trick from Milton Ferreira and brace from Richard Holden paced the side to the win.Ricardo Maderios, Rui Furtardo and Quincy Aberdeen all scored a goal each in the win, while strikes from Jesse Seymour, Jelani Butterfield, Jameiko Jennings and Clay Darrell were not enough for the losers.In Saturday’s action, Apex continued Storm’s disappointing start to the season, beating them 6-3, thanks to braces from Jahron Dickinson and Heys Wolfe. Kaiwon Dill and Thomas Brown added a goal apiece for the winners, while Drewonde Bascom scored twice and Ajani Gibbons got a solo strike in a losing effort.Knights won the first of two matches of the weekend with a 9-1 thrashing of the Titans. Ian Coke scored a hat-trick to lead Knights to victory, while Jared Peniston and Kaiya Darrell both scored two goals each, and Vincent Minors jr. and Ryan Purnell both scored.Jamie Smith scored the lone goal for the Titans who led 1-0 after the first period.Arsenal remained unbeaten with their 13-5 win over the Union. Cecoy Robinson and Ralph Bean jr. both scored four times for Arsenal, while Hopte Burrows, Logan Alexander, Fabian Frankson, Jason Davis and Shaki Pearman all scored a goal each. Union got single strikes from Shawn Brown, Keemo Smith, Marco Warren, Blenn Bean and Dennis Russell.ISL action continues tomorrow when Union face off against the Royal at 7.30 pm, followed by Kings against Arsenal at 8.45 pm.
