Ming urges team to finish on a high

Bermuda Hogges winger Damon Ming

Damon Ming has urged his Bermuda Hogges team-mates to end the season on a high note and reckons they are capable of winning at least three of their final four games.Ming, who misses tonight's match against Long Island Rough Riders through suspension, hopes to see a bumper crowd at BAA Field for the remainder of the campaign to help inspire Hogges to their highest-ever league finish.Although Hogges have dropped to seventh in table, they are only one point off fifth place and have games in hand on the teams above and below them.“We're looking to go out on a high note. We had a very productive road trip, to come away with two wins was very positive for us and we're looking to build on that,” said Ming.“I'd like to think we can get three positive results out of our final four games. To finish mid-table would be just reward for us.“It would be nice to see a bigger crowd at the final home games that would be big boost for the players.”Veterans like Ming, Kwame Steede and Lashun Dill have provided Hogges with much-needed experience this term, creating an environment for talented teenagers such as Reiko Trott, Tre Ming and Zeiko Lewis to flourish. The infectious enthusiasm of Hogges' younger crop has also renewed Ming's drive and determination, with the Dandy Town winger admitting he's relishing his role as one of the team's elder statesmen.“We've had a few younger players step in and get some experience this season,” Ming said. “Zeiko and Tre have made the adjustment very well; they're two young promising players to look out in the future.“I'm enjoying the role of senior player and helping the younger guys progress. I've loved this season and it's been great playing alongside these exciting young players. I believe good times are ahead for Bermudian football.“Everybody just needs to get behind us and support us I'm sure we can get the positive results we're looking for.”Hogges' final four games of the season are all home matches.
