Arsenal set to face Knights in ISL final
Arsenal 13 Union 4Shaki Pearman scored four goals to lead Arsenal to their second successive Island Soccer League final after thrashing Union.Arsenal romped to a 7-3 lead in the second quarter, cruising to victory at the National Sports Centre (NSC) last night.Their coach John Barry Nusum said: “It was a game all around for us and we did what we needed to do.“We defended well as a team and knew that Jason Lee was their danger man, so we gave him a few different looks and put a few defenders on him to make him pass. This tactic paid off for us.“It feels good to make the final, our second in a row, but this is what you play for, not to play in the semi-finals.“We are excited to be in the final and we will see what happens on Sunday.”Logan Alexander and Ralph Bean jr. both grabbed braces for Arsenal whose other goals came from Ijahmon Mallory, Thomas Watson, Jason Davis, and Fabian Frankson.Dennis Russell, Jahmel Swan, Marco Warren, and Saki Tuzo scored for Union.Knights 5 Kings 2In last night’s other semi-final Knights beat Kings.Ian Coke scored a brace, while Shayne Hollis, Vincent Minors jr. and Ryan Purnell all grabbed solo strikes for Knights.Khamisi Lightbourne put the Kings in the lead with the first goal of the game, while Rui Furtado also scored.The ISL final will be played at the NSC on Sunday.
