BAA fight back to win crunch match

BAA 3 Lobster Pot 1BAA overcame a one-goal deficit to win their top-of-the-table clash against Lobster Pot.Pot were soon 1-0 up as Brian McGonagle made an error kicking the ball straight to Henry Santucci from the goal kick who accepted the gift and fired home.The second half started much brighter for BAA as they rung the changes, bringing on veteran David Gibbs and it wasn’t long before results started to show as Alex Hunter was felled in the box.Adam Shaw stepped up and calmly slotted home from the spot to equalise.BAA’s comeback was now on and it wasn’t long before another well worked goal was scored by Hunter.To secure the points, Damien Mendoza held off two defenders and fired home on the rebound after his initial shot was saved.West End 3 Robin Hood 2Eugene Simmons scored twice as West End pipped a spirited Robin Hood for the win.Hood were the more convincing side in the first 15 minutes and went ahead after Adam Outerbridge seized on a poor goalkeeping clearance and drove the ball home from 25 yards.Minutes later Outerbridge was sent off for pushing the United goalkeeper who he felt had unfairly challenged him in the box.West End took advantage of the extra man and scored two goals through Simmons to go into half-time ahead.The second half saw Hood put pressure on West End and it paid off when Grant McKellar tied the score with a thundering volley from distance.Hood went all out for victory and should have taken the points but the West End keeper saved well from Kenny Dill’s low drive from 12 yards out.With only minutes remaining and fresh legs on the field, West End found the winner through Dwight Basden who slotted home from close range.Tuff Dogs 9St David’s 1Jeff Franklin and Lamaul Crofton both scored hat-tricks as Tuff Dogs made light work of St David’s.Kevin Hurdle and Crofton both snatched first-half goals to give their side the lead, while a further two from Crofton, a hat-trick from Franklin, and solo strikes from Yusef Pitt and Mendel Outerbridge completed the rout.Vasco 5 St. George’s 1Quincy Aberdeen and Ricardo Medeiros both grabbed braces as Vasco beat St George’s for a comfortable win.Rui Rocha completed the scoring for the winners, while Angelo Cannonier scored for St George’s in the loss.Lock N Key 2 N. Village 1Goals by Noel Edness and Chris Furbert were enough to get Lock N Key the win over North Village.Nakia Smith scored Village’s lone goal.Flanagan’s Onions 3Valley FC 2Flanagan’s won an entertaining back and forth match over Valley.Jimmy Caplice scored in the first half to put his side ahead before Phil Anderson doubled the lead early in the second.Valley then pulled a goal back through Ruffins Hill but Onions then got a quick third, courtesy of Anderson again.Valley got a second late on from Anthony Webb but couldn’t get the all-important third goal.
