Devonshire Cougars 0Dandy Town 4Three goals in eight minutes took Dandy Town to the top of the Digicel Premier Division last night with a win over Devonshire Cougars at Devonshire Rec.Raymond Beach grabbed a brace, while Angelo Simmons and Fabian Frankson both scored to put their side top.Beach, who was wasteful in the first half, produced the goods in the second as he set the tone for his side’s win.Chances were in an abundance for the visitors with Beach having a chance to open the scoring as early as the third minute but he put his effort right of Che Clarke in the Cougars’ goal.Chances kept coming for the visitors, with most of the opportunities in the opening half falling to Beach. With 20 minutes gone Beach found himself alone at the back post but the prolific striker sent his shot wide of the mark with the goal at his mercy. He then put his next effort wide after a diagonal ball found him with no one within ten yards of him ten minutes later. It wasn’t just Beach who made a hash of his chances, with strike partner Angelo Simmons spurring a break away, hitting his shot right into the arms of Clarke. With scores level at the break, it was Beach who finally opened his side’s account with an hour gone, side footing a cross into the back of the net after the Cougars defence fell asleep at a short corner.Three minutes later Simmons made the most of a scramble in the Cougars area and swivelled on a dime and slotted his effort home. The Hornets put the game to bed in the 68t when Frankson headed home from close range. For good measure, and to send a warning to their fellow title rivals, Beach capped off what he started, grabbing his second of the night as the game drew to a close.
