Wells strikes again in FA Cup
Nahki Wells continued his scoring spree with his third goal in consecutive games in Bradford’s 4-2 defeat at Championship side Watford in the FA Cup third round. The Bermuda international prodded home the final goal of the game in the 88th minute from Charlie Taylor’s cross.Wells, who scored in City’s previous two matches against Crewe Alexander and Rotherham, has scored five goals since joining the League Two outfit in the summer.Troy Deeney’s header gave Watford an early lead before James Hanson equalised, with Marvin Sordell’s low finish making it 2-1 to the hosts.Forsyth scored twice in three second-half minutes, firstly turning in Mark Yeates’ mis-kick and then firing home from distance.Bradford scored late on when Wells converted Taylor’s centre.City boss Phil Parkinson said: “We started slow and gave them a goal early, but we responded very well to that and it was a shame we came in at half time 2-1 down.“It was a good test for us and we had a lot of good things in terms of the two strikers scoring for us which is important.“It has been a lot of hard work in terms of changing that mentality around, that toughness within the squad. We’ll have a little breather this week.”Bermuda goalkeeper Freddy Hall made his first team debut in Northampton’s 2-1 win at Morecambe in League Two action.Hall made a string of saves in the Cobblers’ first win in Aidy Bothroyd’s six matches in charge.
