Churchill hat-trick powers BAA to victory
Flanagan’s Onions 2BAA 5BAA Wanderers climbed to second in the table following their win over third-placed Flanagan’s Onions.BAA opened the scoring in the first minute when hat-trick hero Neal Churchill beat two defenders and picked his spot from 20 yards. Onions were level when a couple of missed tackles in the BAA defence allowed Dave Martin to finish from six yards.Wanderers were back in front on ten minutes when Churchill rose unmarked to head home a Simon Fascione corner, sending his team into the break on top.Two minutes into the second half Alex Hunter put BAA 3-1 up, picking the ball up on the half-way line and beating two defenders before completing a finish from the tightest of angles.Onions scored straight from the restart, though, from a header by Martin, his second of the game.On 70 minutes, however, a great run by Fascione resulted in him being upended in the box and BAA skipper Adam Shaw made no mistake from the spot.Fifteen minutes later, it was Churchill who sealed the win and completed his hat-trick with a superb lob from 25 yards.Robin Hood 2Tuff Dogs 2League leaders Tuff Dogs had to settle for a share of the points.Dogs took an early lead when Jeff Franklin converted nicely by driving a low shot past Mathew Fullerton.Hood came back with a lot of fight and Victor Richards brought the teams level with a well-placed header, before putting them ahead with a neat finish beyond Dogs ‘keeper Cal Thomas.The teams went in on level terms at half-time after an own goal by Martin Brown just before the interval.Both teams pushed for a winner during the second half but neither side could find the breakthrough.Vasco 3Lobster Pot 3Rui Rocha, Rui Sebestiao and Andrew Bento were all on target for Vasco, while Luis Rocha, Matthew Steede and Kinfe Thompson scored for Pot to leave honours even.Lock N Key 2West End United 3West End United were on the winning end of this five-goal thriller over Lock N Key.Eugene Simmons, Dennis Aubrey and Martel Laws scored for West End while Chris Furbert and Quinton Basden were on target for Lock N Key.St. David’s 1St. George’s Colts 2Goals from Andy Williams and Rudell Pitcher were enough to earn St George’s the win over St David’s.St. David’s scorer couldn’t be confirmed.
