Churchill hits five as BAA thrash St David’s
Robin Hood made the most of the elements on Saturday night to beat Lock N Key 3-0 in the final game of the Corona League weekend.Playing in less than ideal conditions, goals from Victor Richards, Jevon Roberts, and Ben Pewter were enough to get the win, although Key missed several opportunities.“Both sides struggled to play good football in the conditions, but we went in a goal up at the half after a strike, despite several near misses by Key,” said Hood coach Derek Stapley.“The second half saw a better quality of football as the conditions improved, and even though the had their chances, some fine goalkeeping by Paul Fox, coupled with some solid defending by our defence, gave us a clean sheet.”League leaders Tuff Dogs came out 2-1 winners over Lobster Pot, with Dogs scoring all three goals.Lamaul Crofton grabbed a brace in the win, while an own goal was also scored.Nakia Smith scored twice to lead the North Village Rams to a 4-0 victory over Vasco.Randy Spence and Kyle Lightbourne added a goal each to help in the scoring.Jimmy Caplice scored twice for Flanagan’s as they romped to a 6-2 victory over West End United.John Docherty, John Tully, Dave Martin and Nicholas Barrett all scored a goal each for Flanagan’s, while Paul Maybury and Stevie Riley scored for West End United.BAA scored early and often as they thrashed St George’s 15-0.Neal Churchill scored five times, while Damien Mendonza and Bradley Simons both scored hat-tricks.Chris Lima, Adam Shaw, Ross Nottingham and Jermaine Simons all scored a goal each.Valley put some distance between themselves and St David’s at the bottom with their 4-1 win over the East Enders.Herbie Dillas grabbed a brace, and single strikes from Macdonald Simmons and Ruffins Hill were enough to earn the win.St David’s scorer couldn’t be confirmed.
