Campbell takes legal action against BFA
The great niece of PHC legend Earl (Townsey) Russell has taken legal action against Bermuda Football Association (BFA).Law Firm Christopher E Swan & Co have filed a writ against local football’s governing body on behalf of top women’s footballer Shonte Campbell.The Dandy Stars striker is believed to be seeking compensation from the BFA to cover medical costs that the association allegedly agreed to pay the women’s footballer.The writ between Shonte Campbell vs The Bermuda Football Association was filed in the Supreme Court on May 22, 2012.BFA president Larry Mussenden could not be reached for comment yesterday while Campbell’s lawyer was unprepared to comment.It is believed that Campbell may have suffered a severe injury while training with Bermuda’s national women’s team in preparation for a tournament.
