December 11 can’t come fast enough for Bradford City hotshot Nahki Wells.That’s the date when Wells and his Bantam team-mates will face Premier side Arsenal in the quarter-final of the English League Cup.City will host Arsene Wenger’s Gunners on home turf at Coral Windows Stadium with the aim of extending their remarkable run in the League Cup.Wells, who has already banged in ten goals for City this term, said the upcoming cup tie is one that everyone involved with the League Two club are looking forward to.“It’s just one of those matches that you can’t wait till it comes around,” he told The Royal Gazette. “Every player and every person involved with the club who supports the club is looking forward to it.”It will be a great day for the club and a good opportunity for the club to gain some income from a massive match. The match with Arsenal is one the fans will relish.”The Bantams pulled off a stunning 4-2 penalty shoot-out victory over Premier side Wigan Athletic earlier this week to reach the last eight of the League Cup in more than two decades.It was City’s first win against a Premier side since knocking out past European Champions Nottingham Forrest in the League Cup in 1995Former Dandy Town player Wells played his part in the famous victory at JB Stadium last week, tormenting the Latics defence in the first half and having a 30-yard blast saved by ‘keeper Al Habsi.Wells, who hailed his team’s triumph over Wigan as the highlight of his career so far, was substituted in the 65th minute after experiencing discomfort in a hamstring.“I felt my hamstring a bit and the gaffer pulled me,” he said. “He didn’t want to take any risks.“I was gutted but those things happen in football. I got it assessed and it’s no problem.“Obviously I would’ve liked to have played 90 plus minutes and been involved in the penalty shoot-out. But unfortunately that didn’t happen.”Bradford will face Northampton Town in an FA Cup first round replay after the teams drew 1-1 at the weekend.Wells came on a second-half substitute.Jonte Smith’s Metro Police lost 2-1 against Crawley Town on Saturday in the first round of the FA Cup.Smith was ineligible to turn out against his parent club, Crawley, and is now cup-tied so unable to play for the Reds either.Smith’s two-month loan spell with non-league club Metropolitan Police FC expired last week.During his brief stint at Metro Police the teenaged striker bagged 16 goals, including ten in the FA Cup, in 11 appearances.
