Devonshire Colts 2Somerset Eagles 2 (aet)(Eagles win 3-1 on penalties)Somerset Eagles booked the second spot in the Shield competition with a penalty shootout win over Devonshire Colts at Goose Gosling Field.Goals from Darin Dowling and a late leveller courtesy of Shentoine Lambert helped the winners move into New Year's Day showpiece.Aaron Critchlow and Keimo Gardener scored in a losing effort for Colts, with Gardener also being sent off for two bookable offences within a minute.In a match that was subdued due surface water, both goalkeepers were largely untroubled, with Colts' Greg Rose having to make a routine save from a Darin Dowling free-kick.Of the pair, it was Eagles' Karl Brown who had the task of picking the ball out of his net first after a collision between a defender and a Colts striker caught him off his line, allowing Critchlow the simple task of poking home the loose ball.Eagles were level 15 minutes later after Dowling was bundled over in the area, with the striker stepping up and beating Rose to his right. Colts' Eli Smith then tested Brown early in the second half, but the shot stopper was equal to the task, palming the shot wide of his goal.Keimo Gardener grabbed the all important second goal for Colts, but also received his first of two yellow cards in the space of one minute.
