Defending champions North Village Rams stepped out their title defence with a hard fought win against Somerset Trojans during the last round of Women’s Futsal League action at Dellwood Middle School Gym.Rams prevailed 7-6 to avenge a previous loss to Trojans earlier this season.Trojans appeared to be in full control with a commanding 5-1 lead at the half. But Rams came storming back after the break to come away with maximum points.Shuntae Todd led Rams scoring with four goals with Leilanni Nesbeth, Whitnae Duerr and Leanne Yates also getting their names on the scoresheet.Trojans replied through goals from Deshae Darrell and Sierra Fisher - who both scored braces - Dazhja Greaves and Jasmine Simmons.PHC Zebras had things all their own way in a 8-1 thrashing of lowly Young Men’s Social Club.Taznae Fubler bagged a hat -trick, Micah Pond and Chyna Young added braces while Keunna Dill scored one to keep Zebras in contention for league honours.Rachel Smith netted Bluebirds’ consolation.Saturday’s remaining match saw Dandy Stars Gold held to a 4-4 draw against Dandy Stars Brown.Dandy Stars Brown led 4-2 at the half before their rivals fought back after the restart to grab a share of the spoils.Precious Cooper, Cleshaunay Darrell-Virgil, Kashintae Fox and Alexis Trott were all on target for Dandy Stars Gold.Dandy Stars Brown replied through a Zahra Gibbons hat-trick and a sole strike from the boot of Leah Smith.Meanwhile, registration has commenced for the second annual Bermuda Futsal Federation (BFF) Youth Futsal League.Registration forms and competition rules can be obtained at Bermuda Football Association, select sports stores in Hamilton or online at bdafutsal@yahoo.com.Completed registration forms should be submitted at BFA offices on Cedar Avenue prior to the April 15 registration deadline.All clubs, youth organisations or individuals have been invited to take part in the league, to be held Saturdays (from 10am) between the months of May and June, involving under-10, under-12, under-14 and under -16 players.For further details contact Peter Sousa at 595 8787 or email bdafutsal@yahoo.com.
