All-Star game set for weekend
All roads lead to Bermuda College Gym which will play host to the second annual Women’s Futsal All-Star Game on Saturday, beginning at 7pm.The event, sponsored by Digicel, will, according to orginasers “showcase the outstanding talent and skills demonstrated by the players who have been chosen and provide fans with higher level of enjoyment and appreciation for futsal.”A celebrity match will be held at half-time involving high profile players, coaches and members of the media as well as others who have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to football over the years.Newly-crowned Women’s Futsal League champions PHC Zebras will also be presented with their trophy during tomorrow’s All-Star Game while awards will be presented to the league MVP, leading goalscorer (Cleshaunay Darrell-Virgil), most outstanding goalkeeper and All-Star MVP.Zebras clinched a maiden Women’s Futsal League title after completing the 2013 campaign three points clear of nearest rivals and defending champs North Village Rams. Dandy Stars Gold rounded off the top three.Admission is $5 for fans over the age of 16.
