Bradford boss heaps praise on Wells

City boss Phil Parkinson heaped praise on his club’s leading goal scorer Nahki Wells following the Bantams’ emphatic League Two play-off final victory against Northampton Town at Wembley Stadium. He said: “Nahki has been great and I have a lot of respect for him because he’s quite an athlete.“He’s a very good finisher but he’s got a toughness about him as well. He can take criticism on the chin and responds the right way, and has a hunger and desire to be the best he can.”Parkinson also paid homage to Wells’ team high 26 goals this season.“This is really his first full season being a regular player and 26 goals is a great tribute to him and his family back in Bermuda. He speaks much about the great support he receives in Bermuda.“He is a very proud man to come from Bermuda, and I think the whole of Bermuda would’ve been cheering him on.”As for his team’s dominant display, Parkinson added: “It was so important for us today and we delivered, and I am so pleased with the lads.”Wells netted in the 28th minute with a tap in at the back post to extend his impressive scoring record against the Cobblers to seven goals in six appearances. It was the first goal scored by a Bermudian at Wembley.Earlier this season Wells became the first local to play at the new iconic stadium during the Bantams’ League Cup final defeat against Premier side Swansea City
