Triple crown champions Devonshire Cougars and Dudley Eve winners Somerset Trojans have been paired together in Group A of next season’s Dudley Eve competition which opens with a double-header on September 2.Ironically the two teams will kick off the new campaign on August 28 when they meet in the Charity Cup at Goose Gosling Field.The first Dudley Eve matches at Bernard Park will see Southampton Rangers playing PHC in a Group B match at 3pm before Cougars play Dandy Town at 5pm.Other dates for Dudley Eve group matches are September 7 and 13 at St John’s Field and Devonshire Rec., though the matches at St John’s Field will clash with a T20 cricket double-header scheduled for the same day involving Western Stars.League matches are scheduled to start on September 15 with the First Division and the weekend of September 20, 21 set aside for the Premier Division games.Meanwhile, the player release and registration period ends on July 15 and the late player release and registration period is from November 15 to 30.The registration of teams is on or before July 16, before a late club registration period extends to July 31 for a fee of $250.Clubs failing to register by July 31 will be ineligible to participate in the upcoming season.
