Lambe eyes return to England
Reggie Lambe, the Bermuda midfielder, intends to return to England when his short-term contract at Nykopings, who play in the third tier of Swedish football, expires next month.
The 23-year-old is believed to have attracted interest from several Sky Bet League One and League Two clubs.
Lambe, who spent two seasons at Toronto FC in Major League Soccer, said that he has been inspired by the scoring exploits of Nahki Wells, his Bermuda team-mate, at Huddersfield Town.
“I am heading back to England and I am determined to make an impact,” Lambe said. “I have unfinished business in England and my two seasons in the MLS have taught me a lot.
“I have seen Nahki go on to great things and I am so happy for him, but I know I can do the same.”
Lambe’s agent, Dan Chapman, told Sky Sports: “Reggie is now ready to return to England.
“Reggie has really matured as a player since he left here and he has learnt to play on either flank or in a more central role.
“Once his contract in Sweden is up in July we are confident, given the interest shown so far, that he should have few problems in finding a club.”
Bradford, Wells’s former club, are one of those being linked with Lambe, who made four League Cup starts and two Championship substitute appearances during his time at Ipswich.
He also played seven games while on loan at Bristol Rovers in League One in 2011.
Lambe has earned 12 caps for Bermuda, scoring four goals. His international debut came at the age of 16 against St Kitts and Nevis in December 2007.
