Striker Wells left on the bench again

Out of favour: Terriers striker Nahki Wells was left kicking his heels on the bench against Brighton.

Nahki Wells was an unused substitute for the second successive game as Huddersfield Town were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Sky Bet Championship.

The 24-year-old club-record signing has started just two of the team’s past five games since Chris Powell, Town’s new manager, brought well-travelled front man Grant Holt to the club on loan from Wigan Athletic.

Wells notched a match-winning brace in the 2-1 win over Millwall to kick-start Town’s current five-match unbeaten run but he has been left on the bench for three of the subsequent four matches.

Against Albion, the home side opened the scoring after ten minutes through Jacob Butterfield, only for Lewis Dunk to equalise six minutes before the break.

Huddersfield, who are seventeenth in the table, take on Ipswich Town away on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Reggie Lambe came off the bench late on for Mansfield Town in their goalless draw away to Tranmere Rovers in League Two.
