Tuff Dogs, the defending champions, maintained their perfect start to the season with a 4-0 win over Vasco at Goose Gosling Field at the weekend.

Ricardo Ponte opened the scoring, beating the offside trap and finishing from a tight angle, with Jeff Franklin adding a second with a simple finish from a few yards out after good work by Aaron Browne.

Anthony Webb scored two more goals for the league leaders in the second half.

Flanagan’s Onions enjoyed a 4-2 win over West End United thanks to a brace from Stewart Foster and goals from Stevie Upton and Andy Forster. Trevor Corday and Khabir Dill scored for West End.

Second-place Robin Hood won their third game in a row with a 4-2 triumph over Lobster Pot. Lloyd Holder struck a double salvo and Rohan Simons and Nick Lines also netted. Lobster Pot’s scorers were Matthew Steede and Hopte Burrows.

In Friday’s opening game, the first match to be hosted at Goose Gosling Field since repair work was carried out to a tear in the artificial surface caused by Tropical Storm Fay, North Village defeated B&V United 5-2.

Ralph Bean struck twice for Village, with Aljame Zuill, Robert Wilson and Vernon Tankard also scoring.

Joshua Crockwell and Lashun Dill, the former Bermuda winger, scored for B&V United.

Also on Friday, Lock N Key defeated BAA Wanderers courtesy of a second-half goal from Marvin Belboda, the former Bermuda player.
