BBFS takes philosophy to Maryland
Bermuda’s Brazilian Football School has partnered up with two groups in the United States in a bid to spread the BBFS philosophy.
The local group, led by president Dennis Brown, joined with Calvert Soccer Association and Huntingtown High School in Calvert County, Maryland to put on a camp for more than 200 players aged between six and 18.
“We have seen the influence BBFS coaching and style of play can have on grass roots players,” Brown said.
The camp for coeds ran in the mornings from 9am to 11am for players aged 14 to 18 and 6pm to 8pm for players six to 13.
BBFS travelled to the US with five staff coaches, Brown, the president and director of coaching, Cal Blankendal, chief executive and head of girls development, Jermaine “Speedy” Smith, Leroy Wilson and Marvin Belboda.
“We look forward to a great partnership and having their respective coaches, teams and clubs visit Bermuda in the near future,” Blankendal said.
