Hill helps team to title
Bermudian Deniche Hill helped set up the third goal as his school, Brooke House College, defeated Buckswood 4-0 in the Independent Schools Football Association Under-16 Shield final at the FA National Football Centre at St George’s Park in England on Thursday.
Both teams took time to settle into the game with Brooke House dominating as the half progressed with Buckswood defending well.
The deadlock was broken in the 27th minute when Ryan Edwards slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
Brooke House had chances to double their lead before the half but some outstanding goalkeeping by Farouq Adebola kept the match close at the half.
Brooke House continued to dominate early in the second half and got a second goal through Isleanmi Oluwaseun with a well-struck effort from outside the box.
They virtually sealed the win when Hill, on as a substitute in the 65th minute, featured in some fine build-up play which resulted in Aaron Nuttall finding the net to make it 3-0. Lazar Boyanoy added a fourth in the final minutes to seal an impressive win for new champions.
