Bermuda cruised to a comfortable 3-0 shutout win over Antigua and Barbuda at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida yesterday to get their campaign at the Concacaf Under-15 Championship off to a flying start.

Bermuda pressed from kick off and their aggressive approach ultimately paid off when Benjamin Osset pounced on a loose rebound and slotted home to earn his team a 1-0 advantage at half-time.

Remy Coddington doubled Bermuda’s lead after the break, scoring from a short corner, before Keyni Mills swept in Osset’s cross to extend the lead further.

“The guys worked very hard, they played hard,” Aaron Lugo, the Bermuda coach, said. “The opposition wasn’t as strong, but they did play with heart which made it difficult. However, were tactically better and we took our chances.”

Bermuda will now be looking to build on momentum when they take on Aruba today.

Even though Aruba are fresh off the back of a 4-0 loss at the hands of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Lugo isn’t taking anything for granted.

“Aruba play with heart and with any team that does that we have to respect the game and be disciplined,” he said.

Bermuda have been drawn in Division Two Group H along with Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba and Saint Vincent and then Grenadines with the eventual group winner advancing to the Division Two semi-finals.
