Hood and Village match rescheduled
Robin Hood’s Premier Division match with North Village, which was postponed on September 21, has been tentatively rescheduled for the November 11 holiday, at Goose Gosling Field at 3pm.
The match is yet to be confirmed because it will depend on whether Hood qualify for the Dudley Eve Trophy final, which is scheduled for the day before.
Hood, the defending champions, will play PHC in the opening semi-final next Wednesday at Goose Gosling Field, with Dandy Town taking on Devonshire Cougars in the second match.
Two other matches postponed on the weekend of September 22 have also been rescheduled.
First Division teams St George’s and Hamilton Parish will play their match on November 11 at 3pm at Wellington Oval, while the second-tier match between Flanagan’s Onions and Vasco will now take place on November 20 at Goose Gosling Field at 8pm.
Last weekend’s match between Ireland Rangers and Flanagan’s Onions, which was postponed because of a shortage of officials, has been rescheduled for November 11 at Malabar Field starting at 3pm.
Meanwhile, Devonshire Colts and Young Men’s Social Club are still waiting to play their first home matches at Police Field this season because of work being carried out in one of the goal areas.
Previous games scheduled at the venue have been rescheduled to other grounds, although it is not known if Sunday’s match between Social Club and St George’s will remain there.
Ray Jones, president and coach of Devonshire Colts, the First Division leaders, said: “The goal area on the BFA side has been dug up and reseeded. We’re just trying to make sure the area is safe for play. As soon as we can get some satisfaction that the area is safe to play on, games will resume there.
“We were supposed to be at home last Sunday but then reached out to Devonshire Rec for some help. Social Club have done that in prior weeks with other clubs.”
