St George’s in three-way tie at the top
Two second half goals by Lashon Dill moved unbeaten St George’s Colts into a three-way tie for first place in the First Division standings on Monday when they beat tenants Hamilton Parish 2-0 in a make-up match at Wellington Oval.
The results sets up an interesting battle of the Colts on Sunday when St George’s meet Devonshire Colts in a top-of-the-table clash. St George’s still have a game in hand over Colts, having won their first five games without conceding a goal.
Monday’s other match saw Flanagan’s Onions hammer Ireland Rangers 6-0 at Malabar Field where Anthony Rocker and substitute Treshun Smith both scored twice. Rocker opened the scoring in the 37th minute before Callon Burns added a second on the stroke of half time.
Four more goals in the second half sealed the comfortable win, with Andrew Brookes making it 3-1 in the 61st minute before three goals in the last five minutes doubled the lead. Rocker scored his second in the 85th minute, then Smith converted in the 87th and 90th minutes.
