Bean enjoying women’s course at Fifa
Charysse Bean says her involvement in the Fifa-Uefa Women in Football Leadership Programme taking place at Fifa headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, this week has been a “life-changing experience”.
The Bermuda Football Association executive is among a group representing more than 20 Member Associations and all six Confederations at the course tailored to help develop senior leaders. The course, which includes individual and group coaching, started on Monday and will conclude tomorrow with a graduation ceremony.
“This programme has been amazing as it has pushed me to think beyond the surface layers of leadership,” Bean said.
“The days are long and the weather is cold but the experience has been life changing.”
Bean, who serves as the Chairwomen for the Women’s Committee and is also a member of the Player Development Committee, is “honoured” to have been chosen to attend only the second edition of the leadership programme.
“I was encouraged by BFA president Mark Wade and general secretary David Sabir to apply to this programme,” she said.
“I was told up front that Fifa was only picking about 20 persons out of all applications, so I was honoured to be selected in the programme.
“The goal of the programme is to strengthen the leadership skills of executive level women in football.
“There are women from all over the world here.
“We are here to learn effective tools to use as females in leadership roles but more importantly about who we are personally.”
