New-look Bermuda squad for remaining World Cup fixtures
Bermuda officially embraced life after Danté Leverock with the announcement today of a new-look squad for the World Cup qualifying fixtures against Surinam and Cayman Islands.
Leverock abruptly retired from international football last week, while the absences of strikers Nahki Wells and Kane Crichlow had already been confirmed for reasons of rest and injury respectively.
With centre half Jaylon Bather suspended and other regulars such as Zeiko Lewis and Reggie Lambe not involved, coach Kyle Lightbourne will head to South America and then Florida with a largely untested group at this level.
Bermuda play Surinam at the Frank Essed Stadion in Paramaribo on June 4 at 7pm Bermuda time, and then head to the IMG Academy Complex in Bradenton four days later to play Cayman Islands at 9pm.
Both matches can be viewed via the Bermuda Football Association’s social-media channels.
