Donawa on bench as Solihull end slump
Justin Donawa’s Solihull Moors ended a mini slump of two losses and two draws in their last four National League matches when they defeated Grimsby Town 2-0 at home last night.
Donawa was an unused substitute as Solihull scored a goal in each half to secure their first win in November to move from eighth to seventh in the standings, level on 29 points with Notts County and seven points behind leaders Chesterfield.
Adam Rooney gave Solihull a perfect start when he got on the end of a cross from new signing James Clarke and scored past goalkeeper James McKeown.
Substitute Joe Sbarra made certain of the win with a well-taken goal in the 68th minute, running with the ball from his own half following a clearance from a Grimsby corner before scoring with a low shot past McKeown to make it 2-0.
Solihull are in action again on Saturday when they travel away to meet Eastleigh.
