Boulevard move up to third in promotion race
Boulevard replaced Young Men’s Social Club in third place in the First Division promotion race, following a 5-3 win over St David’s on Tuesday night at Goose Gosling Field.
It was a hard-fought win for Boulevard who had to twice come from a goal down in the first half, as St David’s put up a good fight, taking the lead in the fourth minute through Iyuan Smith.
Ian Coke equalised for Boulevard in the 20th minute before Smith netted again two minutes later, to restore the St David’s lead. That advantage only lasted for a few seconds, before Zaire Burchall equalised for Boulevard in the 23rd minute.
Taiquan Davis’s goal in the 41st minute gave Boulevard a 3-2 lead at the half. But St David’s showed they were still in contention when Marcus Proctor made it 3-3 five minutes into the second half, only to see Boulevard secure the points with two unanswered goals from Khiry Easton in the 55th minute and Coke in the 75th.
Boulevard have 19 points, one more than Social Club and two less than second place team BAA.
