BAA reclaim second with two goals from Quinn
BAA moved back into second place in the First Division standings following a narrow 2-1 win over Vasco on Monday night at Goose Gosling Field.
Striker Patrick Quinn netted both goals for BAA as all the scoring came in the second half. Quinn broke the deadlock in the 57th minute only to see Michael Armstrong, a 55th minute substitution, equalise for Vasco in the 72nd minute.
Quinn made certain of all three points for BAA with the winner in the 85th minute. The win lifted them back ahead of Boulevard who took over second place on Sunday with an 8-0 victory over Paget.
∎ Midweek matches continue with rescheduled league, Friendship and Shield matches tonight at two venues.
At Somerset, the Trojans will host St George’s in a Premier Division match between two mid-table sides starting at 8pm. Both teams are hoping to bounce back from weekend defeats, the Trojans going down 3-0 at home to Devonshire Cougars and St George’s losing 4-1 to Robin Hood as their bad form continued in night matches.
A Friendship and Shield quarter-final double-header will take place tonight at Goose Gosling Field. In the 6.30pm opener, Wolves and St David’s will battle for a place in the semi-finals of the Shield competition.
The second match will see X-Roads and Devonshire Cougars playing for a spot in the last four of the Friendship Trophy.
