Footy Promotions has joined forces with Fleetwood Town International Football Academy to create another pathway to international football for local players.

Based in the United Kingdom, the Ftifa offers aspiring footballers worldwide a platform to showcase and develop their budding talents under the watchful gaze of coaches and scouts at a professional club.

“We are excited to partner with Ftifa and provide more international pathways for Bermudian players,” Vinzie Zuill, the president of Footy Promotions, said in a press release.

“Due to Covid-19 we were not able to host the Ftifa Talent ID Clinic here in Bermuda as scheduled.

“However, we are looking forward to hosting the programme in the future.

“Also, we plan to organise a football experience for a youth team to be involved in Fleetwood club training at the first team and academy training complex, Poolfoot Farm, or partner complex Rossall School.

“That would include training sessions, strength and conditioning, nutrition, goal-setting and motivation.

“We encourage players between 11 and 19 years old to contact us for more information on Ftifa programmes.”

Fleetwood Town Football Club have a proven pathway of bringing young talent through their Premier League-backed Academy programme.

Fifteen players have progressed into their first team in the past two years, three of which were recruited by Premier League clubs in the last year.

The Ftifa’s curriculum includes pro experience, education and football programme and pathway to pro.The Ftifa Pro Experience provides an elite player development programme for players aged 16 to 19 years old based at the club’s £10m state-of-the-art training complex Poolfoot Farm. Players will be immersed in a full-time training and games programme at the home of Fleetwood Town Football Club’s first team and academy players.

The coaching staff will develop and educate each individual on the complexities of the modern-day game.

Ftifa’s Education and Football programme, which is partnered with Rossall School, for players aged 11 to 16 years old, offers the opportunity to study at a private independent school, while being immersed in the world of a professional football team.

The newest programme is the Pathway to Pro Dubai which is a unique system that allows players aged 18-24 the opportunity to turn pro within the Fleetwood United club in Dubai and potential pathways within the UK and South Africa groups as well as their pro global partner clubs.

James Ward, the international partnerships manager of Fleetwood Town, is equally as thrilled over the new collaboration with Footy Promotions.

“We have had several talented Bermudian players over the past few years attend our international academy programmes,” he said.

“Vinzie and Footy Promotions have always been a huge support for us and we are extremely proud of partnering with them.

“The work they do on the ground in Bermuda and the opportunity they can create for player pathways is second to none.

“We are super excited about the launch of our new Pathway to Pro Programme Dubai as it gives young aspiring professionals the real opportunity to sign as a professional and gain vital experience and develop under the watchful eye of the Fleetwood Group.

“We look forward to working closely with Footy Promotions and to get out to Bermuda later on in the year to work with the talented players there.”
