Justin Donawa offered new contract at Solihull Moors
Justin Donawa has been offered a new contract by Vanarama National League outfit Solihull Moors.
The club narrowly missed out on promotion to the Football League after suffering a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat by Grimsby Town in the National League play-off final on Sunday as substitute Jordan Maguire-Drew struck an extra-time winner to complete the turnaround.
Kyle Hudlin’s header gave the Moors the lead on the stroke of half-time but they could not hold on as John McAtee hit back for the Mariners in the 69th minute to level the score and ultimately send the match to extra time.
After the disappointment, Moors have announced their released and retained list, in which Donawa, who made 16 appearances in all competitions this season, is one of four players to be offered fresh terms despite not featuring for the club since December after suffering a fractured distal fibula in the 0-0 draw away to Eastleigh.
Hudlin, Jamey Osborne and Reiss McNally are the remaining players to be offered new contracts, while the club have also exercised options to extend the existing deals of Alex Gudger and Joe Sbarra.
Among those released by the club are Jordan Cranston, Adam Rooney, Niall Clayton, Ben Usher-Shipway, Melis Bushaj, Tom Allsopp and Danny Newton, while Harry Boyes, Callum Reilly, Joe McDonnell, Mark Ellis and Lois Maynard will return to their parent clubs after the expiration of their loan deals.
