St Johnstone make loan bid for Bermudian goalkeeper Nathan Trott ‒ report
Nathan Trott could potentially showcase his talents in the Cinch Scottish Premiership this season.
The Scottish Daily Express has reported that St Johnstone are keen to secure the Bermudian goalkeeper’s services on loan from English Premier League side West Ham United for the season.
Callum Davidson, the St Johnstone manager, has been searching for a No 1 since Zander Clark departed the club at the end of last season and is now reportedly awaiting for the nod from West Ham to make a swoop for Trott.
The 23-year-old, who endured a tough loan spell last season with Nancy in the French second division, had his contract with West Ham extended last month until the summer of 2024 with a further two-year option.
Trott is among several goalkeeper options Davidson has considered.
Watford’s Pontus Dahlberg has also been linked with a possible move to McDiarmid Park while a move for Kilmarnock goalkeeper Sam Walker did not materialise as the club opted to retain his services as cover for the injured Zach Hemming.
Remi Matthews made his debut in goal for St Johnstone in a 1-0 home defeat against Hibernian in their Premiership opener at the weekend.
