Vashun Blanchette to lead ‘exciting’ Bermuda Under-14 team to CFU Challenge
The Bermuda Football Association has named a 20-member team for the Caribbean Football Union Under-14 Challenge Series from August 13 to 21 in the Dominican Republic.
It will be a debut tournament for the under-14s and head coach Vashun Blanchette says the competition will be crucial for the development of the young footballers.
“This is an exciting opportunity for the group as they are about to experience international football for the first time both on and off the field,” Blanchette said.
“It has been a pleasure leading this group over the past few months and I am confident that they will represent the island well.”
Bermuda have been placed in group one of the second tier, along with Barbados, Dominica, French Guiana and St Vincent & the Grenadines. Groups one through three will play four matches in the group stage.
The top teams will advance to play-off matches, four teams playing in semi-finals before the winners advance to the final.
The full schedule of the group matches will be released soon and all matches will be broadcast live on Flow Sports.
