Hornets and Zebras clash in intriguing encounter
Dandy Town Hornets and PHC Zebras will both be aiming to build on momentum ahead of an enticing encounter at Goose Gosling Field tonight.
Both sides head into the Premier Division clash, which kicks off at 9pm, on the back of victories with Town coming out on top of a seven-goal thriller against Somerset Trojans, prevailing 4-3, in Aaron Denkins first game back in charge after Jay Bean’s resignation.
PHC will also be full confidence after edging St George’s in a thrilling 3-2 victory at Wellington Oval in a game in which midfielder stole the show with an impressive hat-trick to seal the points.
Proceeding that tie, the 3pm kick off will see Trojans aiming to bounce back against Boulevard, who themselves will be out to make amends after being beaten comfortably by high-flying North Village in a 3-0 loss last time out.
Premier Division action resumes tomorrow with X-Roads taking on St George’s at St David’s (3pm) before flawless Village will be out to maintain their perfect start to the new campaign in a tricky visit to Devonshire Rec to face Cougars (7pm).
Meanwhile, the First Division also resumes tomorrow with three matches among the fixture list.
Young Men’s Social Club will be aiming to take advantage of title rivals Paget’s somewhat shock 2-1 defeat against BAA on Thursday evening, and extend their lead at the top when they host Devonshire Colts.
Elsewhere, Wolves host struggling Somerset Bridge at Wellington Oval, while St David’s will be also be aiming to climb away from the bottom of the table, when they go head-to-head with Southampton Rangers at St David’s Oval. All matches kick off at 12.30pm.
