Kole Hall continues goalscoring form to help Chester to win

Fine form: Bermuda forward Kole Hall scored his second in successive games to help Chester to a 3-1 win over Scarborough Athletic in the Vanarama National League North

Kole Hall continued his goalscoring exploits to help Chester seal a 3-1 win over Scarborough Athletic in the Vanarama National League North.

Fresh from scoring the opening goal in the 2-0 victory Farsley Celtic on Tuesday, the Bermuda forward scored his second in successive games, again breaking the deadlock as Chester, who are fifth in the table, recorded back-to-back wins.

In the same division, Bermuda goalkeeper Dale Eve could not prevent Hereford going down to a 2-1 defeat at home against Darlington.

The hosts got themselves in front courtesy of Jack Evans’ eleventh minute opener only for the visitors to rally, with Ben Liddle levelling late into first-half additional time, before Jack Lambert struck what proved to be the winner eight minutes after the interval.

There was also disappointment for Keziah Martin and Kidderminster as they went down to a narrow 1-0 defeat at home against Glouchester City.

In the Vanarama National League South, Willie Clemons and Braintree Town came out on top of a five-goal thriller with Hungerford Town, taking all three points in a 3-2 victory at home.

After a goalless first half, Kyorn Farrell gave the hosts the lead in the 49th minute, only for Hungerford to battle back with Lieghton Thomas levelling in the 62nd minute, with Christie Ward putting the visitors ahead nine minutes later.

However, back came Braintree immediately, completing an impressive turnaround in a frantic five-minute spell with Alfie Mathews equalising from the spot in the 75th minute before Jon Benton struck the winner just a minute later.

Elsewhere, Reggie Lambe played his part as Stowmarket Town secured a fourth successive victory in the Isthmian League North Division with a narrow 1-0 away at neighbours Bury Town.

Ollie Sotoyinbo’s 77th minute strike proved the difference between the two sides as Stowmarket grabbed bragging rights and another three points.
