Dandy Town Hornets and St George’s Colts will be keen to get back to winning ways when they face off in the Premier Division at Goose Gosling Field on Thursday.

Champions Town suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of X-Roads Warriors at the same venue on Sunday while St George’s were held to a 1-1 draw by tenants Hamilton Parish at Wellington Oval on Sunday.

Town are fifth in the Premier Division with last weekend’s defeat virtually signalling an end to their title hopes, while St George’s remain thick in the hunt as they trail leaders North Village by three points.

Meanwhile, the Bermuda Football Association has confirmed the dates and venues for the first round of the FA Cup.

Last season’s winners Town won a fifth FA Cup title after edging 11-times champions PHC 3-2 in last season’s final at Flora Duffy Stadium, and they will begin their defence against X-Roads at Lords, where the latter will play their home matches for the remainder of the season, in one of five cup-ties taking place on January 22.

Other ties on that day include PHC Zebras facing First Division Wolves at Wellington Oval, Devonshire Colts taking on Shield champions Paget Lions in an all-First Division affair at Police Field, Hamilton Parish pitted against Premier rivals Robin Hood in the second match of a double-header at Wellington Oval, while Devonshire Cougars will be at home to Somerset Trojans in another all-top flight affair at Devonshire Recreation Club.

Goose Gosling Field will play host to Corona League sides Tuff Dogs and Footy Kings as they come up against Premier sides St George’s Colts and North Village respectively on January 20.

Young Gunz Sound FC, the third Corona League outfit in the competition, will face Premier Division side Boulevard at Goose Gosling Field on January 21.

The BFA also announced that Saturday’s First Division match between Somerset Eagles and Devonshire Colts originally scheduled to be held at White Hill Field at 3pm will now place at Somerset Cricket Club at 7pm instead.
