Reggie Lambe signs for Braintree Town
Reggie Lambe will showcase his football talents at Braintree Town next season after Bermuda midfielder joined the English non-league club from AFC Sudbury.
“Welcome to the Iron, Reggie Lambe,” the club posted on its Twitter account.
“The Bermudian international is the third to join us from the successful AFC Sudbury side that got promoted last season.“
Lambe also took to Twitter to express his excitement on the move.
“Let’s gooo, I’m ready for the start of the season,” he posted.
The 32-year-old joined Suffolk-based Sudbury in February and helped them win promotion from the Isthmian League North Division via the play-off final before parting ways.
“I would like to wish AFC Sudbury all the best, my time at the club has come to an end,” he said. “It was short but sweet. Thanks for the memories!”
Braintree are led by manager and former Sudbury coach, Angelo Harrop, who guided the club to a Vanarama National League South play-off place in his first season at the helm last term.
Harrop has since agreed to the terms of a new deal keeping him at the Essex club, who play their home fixtures at Dunmow Group Stadium, for at least the upcoming 2023-24 season.
“We're delighted to announce that Angelo Harrop will remain as Braintree Town FC manager after a successful first season in charge,” read a club statement.
Lambe is the latest national player on the move during the off-season along with Dale Eve, Justin Donawa and Milan Butterfield.
Goalkeeper Eve has joined Southern League Premier Division Central side Alvechurch from Hereford, who play in the Vanarama National League North.
Winger Donawa has left Solihull Moors to join Vanarama National League rivals Altrincham, while midfielder Butterfield has joined Southern League Premier Division Central side Nuneaton Borough from Vanarama National League North outfit Alfreton Town.
